Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released admit card for Engineering Services Examination 2018 (ESE) Prelims. The examinees can download the admit card from the official site.
The commission will conduct the preliminary examination on 7 January 2018 for recruiting candidates against 588 vacancies. The examination will be held in 42 cities nationwide.
The Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination will consist of two objective type (multiple choices) questions papers and carrying a maximum of 500 marks. There will be negative marking for wrong answers marked by the candidate. For each wrong answer, one third (0.33) of the marks will be deducted as penalty. In this way, the engineering services (Main/Stage II) examination will consist two conventional type papers in Engineering Discipline specific with duration of 3 hours and maximum marks of 600.
The candidates who will qualify the Preliminary Examination will be eligible for admission to Main/Stage-II Examination and those who will qualify both examinations will be called for Stage III. The Stage III will consist of personality test carrying 200 Marks. The marks obtained in Preliminary/Main and Personality Test Examination by the candidate will be counted for their final merit list.
