Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified syllabus of IAS Prelims Examination on 23rd May 2015, which would benefit candidates to prepare their strategy to clear Civil Service Examination. Well-planned systematic strategy adopted by candidate provides an edge over other candidates.
Jagran Josh has observed previous year papers of IAS Preliminary Examination to deduce a paper pattern, and systematic observation of previous year papers of General Studies Paper I concluded that UPSC has favourable inclination towards topics of Geography, Environment and Ecology, Indian Freedom Struggle, Constitution and Economy. Whereas recent trend indicates a dip in number of questions related to contemporary events in preliminary examination.
Union Public Service Commission’s decision to include Indian Forest Service Examination (IFoS) with Civil Services Examination at Preliminary stage in 2013 has affected the paper pattern. Now combined preliminary examination has stressed upon topics of Geography as well as Environment and Ecology. Modern Indian History questions are mostly selected from Indian Freedom Struggle. UPSC is more focussed on art and culture aspects of ancient and medieval India instead of politics of ancient and medieval period.
