Top National Scholarships in India

There are many national scholarships available to students of India. Every year, the Government of India releases multiple schemes for the benefit of students. This includes schemes by Ministries like Ministry of Minority Affairs, Social Justice and Empowerment etc. Some of these scholarships are:

●  Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities:

It is an initiative by the Government of India for students of Class 1 to 10 belonging to the Minority community. The scholarship covers the admission fee, tuition fee and maintenance allowance. 

●  Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities:

The scholarship is applicable for disabled students of Class 9 and 10, offering monthly stipend, book and additional allowances to the selected students. 

●  Ministry of Labour and Employment Pre and Post matric Scholarship:

Introduced by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the scholarship is for the wards of Beedi Workers, Iron ore, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mine (IOMC) workers, Limestone & Dolomite Mine (LSDM) workers and Cine workers studying in Class 1 to graduation level. It includes scholarship up to INR 10,000 depending on the class which the student is studying. 

●  Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities:

The disabled students of Class 11 onwards are eligible for this scholarship. It covers the maintenance, book, and additional allowances, and reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees.

●  Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities:

This is also an initiative by the Government of India for students belonging to Minority community and studying in Class 11 to PhD. 

●  Merit cum Means Scholarship for Minorities:

It is a merit-cum-means based scholarship for students of minority community studying in graduation or post graduation. 

●  National Fellowship for OBC Candidate:

This fellowship scheme is for postgraduate students belonging to OBC category. The scholarship amount varies from INR 25,000 to INR 28,000 per month. In addition to this, the scholarship also includes contingency, HRA etc.

●  National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme:

The girl students of Class 9 belonging to SC/ST category are eligible for this scholarship that includes INR 3000 with interest. 

●  Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC, ST, OBC Students:

This scholarship is for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC community studying in Class 9 and 10. The scholarship award includes INR 2250 per annum. 

●  Post Matric Scholarship for SC ST OBC:

This scholarship is for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC category studying in class 11 to graduation. The scholarship award includes INR 5000 per annum.
