West Bengal allows Class 8 pass to apply for Govt Jobs, 6000 Vacancies, Recruitment at wbgdrb.in

jobs-for-class-8-passHuge employment opportunity has been generated in the State of West Bengal. This is a not-to-miss chance for all below-matriculate candidates. West Bengal Group-D Recruitment Board, has announced of 6000 vacancies in various Group D posts. Vacancies are open in the offices of the State Government, located all over the State of West Bengal.

This massive recruitment process is unique in two ways. Firstly, taking the trends of previous year into consideration, it can be seen that this is the first time the State has announced such a massive recruitment process. Secondly, vacancies are usually declared for atleast matriculates, but this time Class 8 pass candidates can also join govt sector.

Only those candidates, who fall in the age group of 18-40 years (as on 01 January 2017) and have passed Class VIII Examination from any school under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government, can apply for these vacancies.  There will be no application fees for any categories of candidates.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the above mentioned vacancies in the official website of West Bengal Group-D Recruitment Board at wbgdrb.in. Application process will be online. Candidates are required to have the Class VIII pass Certificate or the Madhyamik (Class X) pass certificate before applying. More details can be found from the link given below.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written test and interview.

Written Test: The Written Examination will carry a total of 85 marks. The test will have 85 Multiple Choice (Four choices) Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each. The duration of the examination will be One and a half hours. Question in the Written Examination shall be in the following subjects (of class VIII standard of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education):- A. General Studies (History, Geography, Physical Sc., Bio-Science, Environmental Science) - 40 Marks (40 questions) B. Language Paper (Bengali/ Nepali/ Hindi/ Urdu) - 10 Marks (10 questions) C. Mathematics (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry) - 35 Marks (35 questions) The candidates are expected to fill up the correct blank space against a question no. on the OMR Answer Sheet. The Question Paper for General Studies and Mathematics will be in English and Bengali, but the Answers will have to be filled up correctly in OMR Sheet.

Interview: The interview round will carry a total of 15 marks. A limited number of candidates on the basis of the result of the Written Examination and proportionate to the vacancy will be called for Interview. In the Interview, the general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested. The Interview will be conducted by the West Bengal Group D Recruitment Board centrally. On the basis of the marks obtained in the Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Group D Recruitment Board.

Verification of character antecedents and medical examination will form an important part of the selection process.

The list of provisionally selected candidates will be forwarded to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Govt of West Bengal for allocating them to various offices of State Government. Appointment letters will be issued by the concerned government departments.

Important Note: Candidates are warned to be aware of Touts (Dalal). They should note that the recruitment by WBGDRB is absolutely free, fair and totally merit based. Individuals having the required qualifications and capability will get selected on his/ her own capacity. Anyone offering guarantee of recruitment must be reported against to the Chairman or Member - WBGDRB immediately or to the local police. Canvassing through others will involve summary cancellation of candidature.

About West Bengal Group D Recruitment Board, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms: The West Bengal Group D Recruitment Board had started functioning from 1st January, 2016 and has its permanent office location in Utility Building, Action Area II, New Town, Kolkata - 700161. State government had constituted the West Bengal Group-D Recruitment Board, vide notification no. 1924/ HR/ N/ G8P-153/15 dated 17th November 2015, for recruitment of around 60,000 Group-D personnel, in phases, against the vacant sanctioned posts available in the various offices of the Government of West Bengal.
