What is the CAT 2013 Examination Admission Process?
IIM Indore announced opening of CAT 2013 registrations from 5 August 2013. Read to know the details of admission process followed.
CAT score is used by all the IIMs and many Non-IIM institutes to shortlist candidates to appear for the second / later stages of selection process of their Institute.
Result of CAT 2013 examination will be available on the website from 14 January 2014. Various Institutes – IIMs and non-IIMs -- that use CAT score to shortlist candidates for the second / later stages of selection process of their Institute -- will use the CAT 2013 score to shortlist candidates for admission to various programs for the academic session 2014-2015.
Second / later stage of selection of each IIM / Institute is usually independent of each other and may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). IIM / Institute may also consider candidates academic record, work experience and other similar inputs for short listing and ranking at various stages of the admission process.
List of shortlisted candidates for the next level of selection will be made available on the individual IIM / Institute’s website.
Short-listed candidates have to comply with the following eligibility verification processes:
a. Candidate will have to produce all mark sheets in original and also submit their attested copies at the time of Interview.
Further, if selected, the candidate will be required to submit all original degree certificates and mark sheets of all semesters / years along with their attested copies for verification.
SC, ST, NC-OBC and DA candidates, if short-listed, will be required to produce Original caste / class and / or Disability certificate and submit a photocopy of the same at the time of Interview.
In case of final selection, the candidate will have to submit Original certificate of qualifying degree and attested copy of the same at the time of joining the program, for verification.
Candidates in the Final Year of their qualifying examination, if short-listed, will have to produce an original certificate from the Principal / Registrar / Director of the University / Institution certifying that the candidate has obtained the desired percentage of marks (percentage of marks varies for different category / class of candidates) based on latest available grades / marks, and also submit an attested copy of the same at the time of interview.
For the PGP of IIMs, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the program Provisionally only if they submit, latest by 30 June 2014, a certificate from the Principal / Registrar of their college / institute (issued on or before 30 June 2014) stating that they have completed all the requirements including appearing for supplementary exams if any (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
Admission of these candidates will be confirmed only when they submit original mark sheet and qualifying degree certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification, with minimum desired percentage of marks, referred to in the certificate.
They will have to submit an attested copy of the mark sheets and qualifying degree certificate, during confirmation. The last date for submission of the mark sheet and the certificates is 31 December 2014.
