CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) on 22nd November 2010 signed the agreement with NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Companies) to restrain cyber crime. Under the agreement, NASSCOM and Data Security Council of India will cooperate with CBI in the area of cyber security by providing CBI the latest information on technological developments and cyber crimes.
In recent years, cyber crime emerged as major threat to the Indian government and IT industry of India. The Indian government and corporate bodies need active cooperation with each other to deal with the cyber crime, which generally take place outside India. Moreover, cyber crime is not limited to any single nation only but has become a cause of worry all over the world.
Cyber Crime can be defined as unlawful acts in which the computer is either a tool or a target or both.
NASSCOM is the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT-BPO industries in India.
