1. (a) Gurugram 

IPS officer Kala Ramachandran has been appointed as the first woman police commissioner of Gurugram. She took charge of the position on February 15th from outgoing police chief KK Rao who has been transferred to the Centre for Police Training and Research at Bhondsi near Gurgaon. She is a 1994 batch IPS officer from the Haryana cadre.

2. (b) Tamil Nadu 

Kala Ramachandran is a 1994 batch IPS officer, originally from the Tamil Nadu cadre. She later switched to Haryana cadre after marriage.

3. (d) February 15th 

The Lantern Festival was celebrated this year in China on February 15, 2022. The day wraps up the 15-day Chinese New Year celebrations. 

4. (a) India

The World Sustainable Development Summit 2022 will be held from February 16-18, 2022 in a hybrid format in New Delhi, India. The theme of the summit this year is ‘Towards a Resilient Planet: Ensuring a Sustainable and Equitable Future’. 

5. (a) Keegan Petersen

South Africa's Keegan Petersen has been named ICC men's Player of the Month for January 2022. He beat his compatriot and under-19 star Dewald Brevis and Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain to win the award after his significant role in helping his team win the home test series against India. 

6. (c) Heather Knight

England skipper Heather Knight won the ICC Women's Player of the Month award, beating off competition from Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu and West Indies cricketer Deandra Dottin. 

7. (a) US

The United States has temporarily relocated its embassy in Ukraine from Kyiv to the western city of Lviv. The US has also asked its citizens in Ukraine to leave the country within the next 24 to 48 hours amid growing concerns of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
