The drug is effective against all kinds of cancer including brain tumours and soft tissue cancer. This cancer drug will be used in radiation therapy against Cancer. The drug will effectively weaken the ability of cancer cells to resist the radiation therapy.

According to DRDO 2-Deoxyglucose (2-DG) could be effective against the cancerous cells if it is infused into the human body before the radiation therapy. It will increase the chances of successful cancer treatment by three times.
