Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited India
Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited India from 6 to 8 September.
Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited India from 6 to 7 September 2014. During his visit he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj. He also had discussions on trade, investment, high tech cooperation and renewable energy collaboration.
During his visit, both the countries agreed to prepare a road map for cooperation in skill development, solid waste management and cleaning of rivers. He conveyed that Germany has strong desire to work with India to further expand and deepen bilateral relations.
He also visited the Hauz Khas Metro Station where the tunnelling process is underway. He visited and surveyed the process because Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) was provided to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) by a German company, Herrenknecht.
Prime Minister Modi described the two nations as made for each other due to complementary skills and resources to power the next generation of industrial development through partnering in manufacturing and infrastructure development.
