The Chinese subsidiary of Jaguar Land Rover decided on 25 December 2012 to recall 337 cars due to below-standard fixture of brakes as well as steering boxes.

On its official website, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine mentioned that the China unit of Jaguar Land Rover decided to recall 190 Evoque and Freelander vehicles which were produced on 11 June 2012.

The agency declared that the recall was announced in context with repeated concerns regarding the fixture of substandard rear brakes calipers in vehicles which might also lead to brakes failure as well as sudden deflation of tyre.

The agency additionally also declared that 147 other 2012 Evoque and 2013 Evoque vehicles produced between 20 October 2012 and 18 September 2012 would be recalled because of issues in the steering boxes as it may pose security risks.

There have been strong demands for Jaguar Land Rover, the British luxury brand which is owned by Tata Motors. The demand was especially high in emerging markets like China.
