JPC Committee Was Formed to Probe the 2G Spectrum Scam

The formation of Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was announced to probe the 2G spectrum scam.

The formation of Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was announced by the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 23 February 2011 to probe the 2G spectrum scam. The JPC will have 30 members. Among them 20 members will be from Lok Sabha and rest of the 10 members will be from the Rajya Sabha. The JPC will have members from both the ruling and the opposition parties. The Congress will get 10 slots in the JPC while the BJP will have 6. The Left Front, JD (U), DMK and BSP will get two slots each. The Trinamool Congress, Biju Janata Dal and Samajwadi Party will have one representative each.
