BN Sharma appointed as Chairman of National Anti-profiteering Authority under GST
Senior IAS officer BN Sharma was on 28 November 2017 as the Chairman of National Anti-profiteering Authority (NAA). The post of NAA Chairman is equivalent to the rank of Secretary to Union Government.

He will be assisted by four senior officials of the rank of Joint Secretary and have been appointed as Technical Members in the Authority.

These officials are JC Chauhan, Chairman of Tax Tribunal of Himachal Pradesh; Bijay Kumar, Principal Commissioner GST of Kolkata; CL Mahar, Principal Commissioner GST of Meerut and R Bhagyadevi, ADG, Systems at Chennai.

USIBC launches Mentorship Program for Women Entrepreneurs
The US-India Business Council (USIBC) on 27 November 2017 launched a collaborative initiative for Women Entrepreneurs titled 'Women for Women Innovators, Social Leaders & Entrepreneurs' (WISE).

The program was launched during USIBC’s Road to GES event 'Creating the Foundations of Innovation'.

WISE will be led by Country Head of Intel India Nivruti Rai, CMD of Biocon Limited of Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman of IBM India of Vanitha Narayanan, MD of Kalaari Capital of Vani Kola, and Producer of Girl Rising Amita Vyas.

North Korea test-fires Intercontinental Ballistic Missile over Japan waters
North Korea on 28 November 2017 fired an intercontinental ballistic missile which flew nearly 1000 kilometer before splashing down in the Sea of Japan.

This launch of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile came following the declaration made by the United States (US) that North Korea is a sponsor of terrorism. The missile went higher than ever before and showcased that North Korean missiles can threaten anywhere in the world.

The US Department of Defence detected and tracked a North Korean missile launch.
