The SEMICON India 2024 has been officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 11 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi is also scheduled  speak at the event.

The event is in accordance with the goal set by Prime Minister Modi to establish India as a center for technology development, semiconductor design, and manufacture on a worldwide scale.

SEMICON India 2024: Theme and Schedule

SEMICON India 2024 conference is taking place from September 11 to 13 in Noida. The conference focuses on the theme "Shaping the Semiconductor Future." 

This three-day event will highlight India's plan to become a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing and technology at global level.

What is SEMICON India 2024?

SEMICON India 2024 is a  three-day conference that will highlight India's semiconductor policy and strategy, which aims to establish India as a worldwide semiconductor hub.

The primary aim of the conference is to bring together global leaders, companies, and specialists from the semiconductor sector. The presence of top leadership from major global semiconductor giants can be seen in the conference.

There will be more than 250 exhibitors and 150 speakers during the conference.

Some major decision shall also be taken during the conference, such as Larsen & Toubro Ltd. intends to invest more than $300 million to establish a chip company, joining other Indian corporations in an effort to develop a semiconductor sector in the most populous nation on earth, according to a Bloomberg article.

PM Modi’s Goal for Future India

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in India’s ability to become a reliable partner in the global semiconductor supply chain. He further assured that the central government would maintain stable and predictable policies for the semiconducter industry to grow in the country.

The Prime Minister made these promises during the Semiconductor Executives’ Roundtable at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. He also said that the ideas that emerged and were shared during the meeting has the potential to not only impact their businesses but also shape India's future.
