The President of India Pranab Mukherjee on 30 December 2014 appointed the Governors of Mizoram, Uttarakhand and Meghalaya.

Appointments
• Governor of Uttarakhand Aziz Qureshi was transferred and appointed as Governor of Mizoram for the remainder of his term.
• Meghalaya Governor Dr Krishan Kant Paul was transferred and appointed as Governor of Uttarakhand for the remainder of his term. Krishan Kant Paul will continue to hold the additional charge of the office of the Governor of Manipur, till further orders.
• Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, will take additional charge as the Governor of Meghalaya in addition to his own duties, till further orders.  

Article 153 of Indian Constitution
The Article 153 of Indian Constitution states that there shall be a Governor for each state provided that nothing shall prevent the appointment of the same person as Governor for two or more states.
