Saina Nehwal won Swiss Grand Prix by defeating Ji Hyun Sung of South Korea

India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal won the Swiss Grand Prix on 21 March 2011 by defeating Ji Hyun Sung of South Korea.

World No. 4 India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal won the Swiss Grand Prix on 21 March 2011 by defeating Ji Hyun Sung of South Korea 21-13, 21-14. The victory marked her first tournament win in 2011. Saina had also defeated Ji Hyun Sung of South Korea in the Indonesia Open Super Series in 2010. The Swiss Grand Prix win is the ace Hyderabadi badminton player’s fourth Grand Prix title. Saina avenged her loss to Japan’s Eriko Hirose at the All-England championships in this tournament. At the All England Championship, Saina was defested by Japanese Eriko Hirose in the quarterfinals.


The victory at the Swiss Grand Prix marked Saina's ninth career title. She had previously won four Super Series, three Grand Prix Gold titles and two Grand Prix tournaments.
