The Cyclonic Storm MAHASEN formed over Bay of Bengal

MAHASEN: The Cyclonic Storm formed over Bay of bengal in the Second week of May 2013

The cyclonic storm MAHASEN formed over Bay of Bengal in the second week of May 2013 and it is expected to skip Chennai and move towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coast in the next couple of days. The storm will move initially north-northwestwards during the next 12 hours and thereafter northeastwards towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coast. Under its influence, rainfall would occur at many places.

Squally winds would prevail along the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Fishermen of the Islands are advised not to venture into the sea during the next 48 hours. The Met office has also forecast rain or thundershowers at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South interior Karnataka.
