Union Government reconstituted 6 Cabinet Committees

Union Government on 19 June 2014 reconstituted six important Cabinet Committees of these four will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and remaining two by Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The six Cabinet Committees include Security, Political Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs, Economic Affairs, Accommodation and Appointments.

Of these six, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will head four Cabinet Committees namely Security, Political Affairs, Economic Affairs and Appointment Committee of the Cabinet. Apart from this, the remaining two Cabinet Committees on Parliamentary Affairs and Accommodation will be headed by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Cabinet members from NDA allies’ parties are Harsimrat Kaur Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal, Ram Vilas Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party and Anant Geete of Shiv Sena.

• The composition of the reconstituted Cabinet Committees is
• Appointments Committee of the Cabinet will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will have Minister of Home Affairs Raj Nath Singh as its member
• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs will be headed by Prime Minister of Narendra Modi and will have 13 other members
• The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will have other 9 members
• The Cabinet Committee on Security will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will have other 3 members
• The Cabinet Committee on Accommodation will be headed by the Minister of Home Affairs Raj Nath Singh and will have four members.
• The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will be headed by the Minister of Home Affairs Raj Nath Singh and will have 10 members

On the other hand, the Prime Minister earlier in June 2014 scrapped the Cabinet Committees related to prices, World Trade Matters, UIDAI and Management of Natural Calamities and now their functions will be handled by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
