The same was seen at the recent Meta Connect 2026 which took place from September 23-24 in California. The event brought several exciting announcements across artificial intelligence, smart glasses and virtual reality. One of the biggest highlights was Meta VR Glasses. 

What Are VR Glasses?

VR glasses are devices which allow users to experience a 3D virtual world through a display in front of their eyes. Unlike regular screens, VR glasses create an immersive environment where users can watch content, play games and interact with virtual objects.

Traditional VR glasses were usually larger and covered most of the face. However, recent technological advancements have led it towards lighter and more compact designs.

What Are Meta VR Glasses?

Meta has introduced its new Meta VR Glasses in recent Meta Connect 2026. The device is designed to offer a high end virtual reality experience in a glasses form.

One of the biggest highlights of the new device is its weight. The Meta VR Glasses weigh around 100 grams. Meta has moved the major computing components like battery and storage to a separate pocket sized device called a ‘puck’. The puck is connected to the glasses through a cable.

The company has also focused on making the device easier to use. Users can control the glasses through their eyes, hand gestures and even voice. Meta AI is also built into the experience. It will be available from spring season in next year with a prize of $1,299.99. 

Meta VR Glasses: Key Features

• Light weight: The glasses have an approximate weight of 100 grams. According to Meta, the glasses are nearly five times lighter than Meta Quest 3.

• 5K Infinite Display: The product has a 5K Infinite Display equipped with micro-OLED panels that provides users with a high-resolution experience.

• Eye & hand tracking: People can use eye movements and hand gestures to communicate within the virtual world.

• Voice commands: The user can control various options on the glasses by using his/her voice commands.

• Meta AI: There is an integration of Meta AI in the glasses to help users perform various actions through natural commands.

• Separate computing puck: The primary computing units, battery and storage are located in a separate, pocket-sized puck. It is done to make the glasses light in weight.

• Gaming and entertainment: The device can be used for gaming and watching movies on a virtual large display.

• Virtual work station: Multiple virtual screens can be created by the users on which they can work.

Muse Charm is a wearable device that interacts with the Meta's Muse AI. With this wearable, the users will be able to communicate with AI without using their mobile phone or computer.
