Players Hitting Most Sixes in T20 World Cup History

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle, also known as the “Universe Boss” was an explosive opener for the West Indies. He leads the chart with the most number of sixes in the T20 World Cup. A total of 63 sixes has been hit by him in 33 matches during his stint from 2007 to 2021.

Rohit Sharma, the current Indian captain and opener,  with 50 sixes in 46 matches has climbed to the second spot in the all time list of players with most sixes in the T20 World Cup. He is the first Indian to hit 50 sixes in T20 World Cup and also the first batsman to score 200 plus sixes in T20's. 

Jos Butler

Jos Butler, the English captain and wicket-keeper batsman known for his explosive hitting abilities is the third on the list. He has played 35 matches and hit 43 sixes. 

David Warner

David Warner, the diminutive opener from Australia, is fourth on the list of players with most sixes in the T20 World Cup. He has hit 40 sixes in 41 matches so far, and as Australia failed to qualify for the semis of T20 World Cup 2024, he will not be able to add more to his tally in the current edition.

Yuvraj Singh, the dashing left-hand middle order batsman from India, is the fifth on the list with 33 sixes in 31 matches. He is the only player to hit six sixes in an over in the T20 World Cup. He achieved this unique feat in 2007 T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen to have played cricket and across all formats. He is sixth on the list with 32 sixes in 33 matches. Such is his class, that he is the leading run scorer in T20 World Cups, and also has been the player of the tournament twice, having won them in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Shane Watson, the former Australian all rounder is the seventh name in the list with 31 sixes in 24 matches.

Glenn Maxwell is the eight on the list of players with most sixes in the T20 World Cup. He has hit 30 sixes in 31 matches he has played so far.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Finishing the top 10 list is a talented young wicket-keeper batsman from Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who is in phenomenal form in the T20 World Cup 2024. Overall he has hit 28 sixes from 15 matches. 

This makes him the fastest batsman to score more than 25 sixes in the T20 World Cup.
