Android 10 Update – Key Features & Changes
The following are the key changes introduced by Google in the Android 10 update making it a more intuitive mobie OS as compared to its earlier versions:
No Desserts Name
With Android 10, Google has moved away from its tradition of naming Android Mobile OS after popular desserts such the previous two versions which were named Android Oreo, Android Pie. While the beta version the latest OS update was code named as Android Q, the final OS update that has rolled out has stuck to numeric nomenclature i.e. Android 10.
Dark Mode
Android 10 comes with an inbuilt ‘Dark Mode’ which was one of the most popular features available on many Android Apps. Now with Dark Mode built into the OS, the theme can be applied to entire system. Dark Mode is slated to reduce eye-strain and save battery life for the users.
Focus Mode
Smartphones have been fuelling digital addiction among its users and to handle this problem Google has introduced Focus Mode as part of Android 10 OS update. Under Focus Mode, Android 10 will allow users to silence certain predefined apps that they find to be distracting. Deactivating Focus Mode will again enable access to the apps.
Bubble Notifications
One of the major changes to the User Experience has been introduced in Android 10 via the Bubble Notifications. Bubble Notifications will be similar to Chat Heads used by popular messaging apps, allowing users to access their notification while using any application. Through Bubble Notification, users will get a floating notification for alerts which they can interact with without having to quit their current app.
Improved Privacy Controls
The second key feature introduced as part of Android 10 is the improved Privacy Setting and Control which allows apps to use location services, activity controls and Ad setting. In the new OS, Android users will be able to grant location service permission to apps for a predefined time instead of enabling it based on usage or location. Another important feature that has been implemented as part of the Privacy Settings is the blocking unwanted app launches from the background.
