Bihar School Reopening News: As per the latest update, Bihar State Government has decided to allow partial reopening of schools for students of Class 9 to 12 from 28th Sept 2020 i.e. next Monday onwards. On 22nd Sept - Tuesday, the Bihar Education Department issued order that permitted schools to reopen for students of Class 9 and above to seek guidance from teachers on school premises. As of now, the state government has allowed schools to reopen only for voluntary doubt solving sessions therefore no regular classes would be held for students in schools across the state. While schools have been allowed to reopen, hostels and coaching institutes across the state would remain closed until further notice.
1/3rd Students, 50% Teachers Allowed
According to the order passed by the Bihar Education Department, a total of One-third of the total students and 50% of the total teachers will be allowed to attend schools on a single day. In line with the 1/3rd of total student strength being allowed visitation, the total number of students have been divided into three groups i.e. Monday to Thursday, Tuesday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday; and they will be allowed to visit only on the days that are fixed for them.
Written Consent from Parents Mandatory
In line with the MHA’s Unlock 4.0 Guidelines, students would be allowed to visit schools on voluntary basis for doubt solving sessions with their teachers only if they carry with them a written consent form signed by their parents. Moreover, students and teachers who currently reside in active containment zones, have been barred from visiting schools.
COVID Precautions and Guidelines to be Followed
According to the govt order, Schools will be sanitised before the commencement of classes, especially for those schools which were being used as quarantine centres for outstation visitors. Moreover, biometric attendance system will not be used for teachers at schools and they will have to follow roster or register based attendance system. Govt order also calls for proper social distancing to be maintained by the students at all times and therefore any common activities that may lead to crowding such as Prayer, sports sessions have not been permitted. Hand sanitizers will be made available at the entrance. Students will be required to wash hands at a regular interval, the order said.
