
The Delhi University Administration has issued a list of guidelines for the open book examinations to be conducted by the university adding that the exams are not conducted online and minimal internet will be required for conducting the same. The university has stated that the exams will require minimal internet for downloading and uploading purposes only.
With the country in lockdown all the educational institutions were shut down and resorted to online platforms to conduct the classes for the students.
The guidelines issued by the university to the department heads stated that the mode adopted is not an online mode for the examinations but only downloading and uploading purposes will require an internet connection and any latest phone can serve that purpose. The university has also addressed technical concerns adding that the same will be taken care of by the examination branch and a mechanism will be in place to protest the interest of the students.

Guidelines for Setting Question Papers
The University has set a two-hour examination for the undergraduate and postgraduate students in which they will have to attempt four out of six questions. The question paper will be for a total of 75 marks for all the students except for those studying in the School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board. The university has also directed the departments to provide special care while repairing the question papers for the students with disabilities. As per reports, the question papers have to be uploaded by the departments by June 3, 2020.
The document released by the university clearly states that this is a one time measure taken to facilitate the final semester students 2019-20 academic year.
As per the guidelines released, the question paper will be based on the Choice Based Credit System and all the necessary care will be taken while preparing the questions for the disabled students.
Notification for final semester examinations for PwD students
The semester examinations will be conducted by the university from July 1, 2020, and in case the situation does not improve the open book examinations will be considered as a possible alternative.
The evaluation will be conducted in the online mode and will be decided as per the directions of the individual departments.
The notifications also suggest that the complete schedule and detailed guidelines will be issued on the official website by the end of the month.
