DU Admission 2019: NSUI resolves to pay fees of students who are children of late soldiers, farmers

NSUI will pay the fees of candidates who are children of farmers and slain soldiers and seeking admission to the Delhi University.

DU Admission 2019: On 20th June, Wednesday, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) announced that the organisation will pay the fees of DU 2019 admission seekers who who are children of late security personnels and farmers. NSUI, in a move to help children of such families, has resolved to pay the admission fees for one year if they take admission in Delhi University. The philanthropic move was announced on the occasion of party president, Rahul Gandhi’s birthday. NSUI is a student’s body backed by the Indian National Congress.  

Also, children of those families whose fathers were farmers and committed suicides as they were unable to repay the loans to the government will be helped by the NSUI. The admission fees of one year of such children for one year will also be compensated. To avail the benefit offered by the NSUI, students claiming the same will be required to register themselves on 'nnsuifordu@gmail.com'. Once the registrations are complete, the NSUI committee will verify the claims of such children. Post verification, children of such families will be compensated as mentioned.

More than 3 lakh students have applied for DU admission 2019. Effective from this year, Delhi University has made a 10 percent increase in the number seats for the EWS category which will be an increase of about 6,000 seats. The total number of seats for undergraduate courses have thus increased to 62,000. The Delhi University will release the first merit list for admission to the academic year on 28th June, 2019. The admission fee for each course and college will also be announced accordingly.
