DU Exams 2021: 3rd, 5th, 7th Semester Exams for UG, PG students from November 30

Delhi University will be conducting the third, fifth and seventh-semester exams for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from November 30, 2021. The exams will be conducted in the Open Book format. The board has also announced that the OBE format exams will also be conducted for the essential repeaters of Sem 1, 3, and 5 and the ex-students of all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

According to the notification provided by the university, the exams for the 3rd, 5th 7th-semester students along with essential repeaters of 1st, 3rd and 5th semester and ex-students of all UG and PG programmes including the exams for students registered with the School of Open Learning and Non- Collegiate Women Education Board will begin from November 30th, 2021.

DU Exam Details

As per the details provided by the university, the exams will be conducted in two sessions a day including Sundays for a duration of three hours in the Open Book Format. The final date sheet for the semester exams is expected to be released by November 1st week. Students can take the exams from a place of their convenience or at the faculty or department or college in the online mode as per the option selected by them when filling the exam form.

Guidelines have also been issued by the university for conducting the internal assessment, practical, viva voce, projects, oral exams, apprenticeship, internship, and fieldwork for the 2021-22 academic session which needs to be completed by December 14, 2021.

With respect to the Internal Assessment the university has directed the colleges to conduct only the internal assessment instead of the earlier editing three components which included class tests, tutorial tests and attendance. 

The university has stated that the Internal Assessment of the students should be carried out using IT tools and teachers should give the assignment to the students in the prescribed format through email or Google Classroom. Students are also required to submit the solved assignments to the teacher via email at the prescribed time.

With respect to the practical exams for the UG students, teachers will be giving assignments to the students who email or submit the solved assignments on time. The Vica and Moot Court can be conducted wherever applicable through Skype or online teaching apps while for the internship and apprenticeship the university has stated that the students should be allowed to take up online internship/ activities including activities that can be carried out digitally or from home. The students can be engaged as interns in ongoing projects and the date for the beginning of the internship can be delayed. The time period of the internship can also be reduced, joining them with assignments.

Evaluation Scheme

The evaluation for the UG and PG dissertations will be conducted based on the written assignments. The university however added that under the present circumstances appropriate measures will be taken to facilitate the UG/ PG students pursuing project/ dissertation.

Review based projects or software-driven projects will be accepted by the faculty instead of lab-based experiments or field survey based assignments of the students.
