The Swayam project is based on access, equity, and quality of education. Through the Swayam project, the government aims to reduce the digital divide between students who have remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.
The NCERT project ‘Swayam Prabha’ is aimed for the operations of 32 Direct to Home (DTH) Television channels which provide high-quality educational content to all the students, teachers and citizens across the country. New content of four hours every day will be telecasted six times in a day which will allow the students to choose a time as per their convenience.
Apart from the two projects the Minister also spoke about the ‘Nishta’ initiative which began for the training of 42 lakh teachers.
The minister also announced the results of the NTSE which saw a total of 2,103 students qualify the examination. These students are now eligible for the higher education scholarships provided by NTSE.
