Case Against Super 30 Founder Dismissed: Guwahati High Court dismissed cheating case filed against Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar today. As per the media reports, Super 30 Founder and Mathematician Anand Kumar appeared before the Guwahati High Court on Thursday to present his side of the case. However, before the court proceedings could begin, the petitioners offered withdraw the case on their discretion. Following this development, Guwahati High Court ordered dismissal of the case against the popular academician from Bihar.
Anand Kumar Appears in Court in-Person
Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar appeared in person before the Guwahati High Court as part of the proceeedings. Earlier, he was unable to appear before the court due to a prior commitment of being invited by Cambridge University to deliver a lecture at the Cambridge Union. However, immediately following his return, the Bihar based Mathematician appeared before the High Court on Thursday. Guwahati High Court’s bench comprising Chief Justice Ajai Lamba and Justice Achintya Malla Bujor Barua heard Anand and asked the petitioners if they would like to withdraw the petition.
The counsel for Kumar, Abhijeet Kakoti, said that the petitioners immediately offered to withdraw and the court dismissed the case. “The court clearly stated that there was nothing in the case to be pursued in Guwahati HC,” he added.
Kumar Alleges Attempts To Tarnish His Image
Following the dismissal of case against him, Kumar in a briefing to press said that he had complete faith in the judicial system and always believed that path of truth and compassion will emerge victorious. Kumar further alleged that ‘some vested interests are always trying to tarnish my image. They even organised attacks on me and my family to distract me from my main pursuit of helping the poor students. They tried to implicate my colleague’s in police false case, which proved wrong after high-level investigation. It does hurt at times, but such negativity cannot cow me down. It has only made me stronger in my resolve,. I will continue to serve as I have always done. If even one poor student reached IIT with my little help, I will be the happiest man. If hundreds have qualified so far, it is because of their effort and my small guidance.”
Case Was Filed on Cheating Charges
According to media reports, four students from Guwahati had filed a case against Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar alleging cheating and mismanagement of the Super 30 programme. The petitioners said that several students from North Eastern States who approached Anand Kumar to be inducted in the Super 30 programme were admitted by them in a ‘coaching institute’ under the banner of Ramanujan School of Mathematics. They also alleged that Kumar charged Rs 33,000 per student for admission. Following this, the students had filed a case against him in Guwahati High Court. However, on 28th November, the petitioners decided to withdraw the case unanimously and the case was dropped by the court.
