ICSE Board Exam 2020 Update: CISCE informed the Supreme Court that it will take final decision on holding the pending ICSE 10th Board Exam 2020 and ISC 12th Board Exam 2020 based on the court’s verdict about CBSE Board Exams 2020. ICSE Board Exams 2020 Cancelled?: As per latest update, ICSE Board Exams 2020 are likely to be cancelled, as CISCE Board plasn to follow CBSE Board's formula for holding the pending board exams. Today, during a hearing in the apex court, CBSE Board informed SC that it plans to cancel CBSE Board Exam 2020 for 10th and 12th Class students, which are scheduled to start from 1st July 2020. In the same hearing, Senior Adv Jaideep Gupta appaering on behalf of ICSE Board informed the court that CISCE in principal agrees with CBSE's formula and will provide more details about further course of action soon.

ICSE Board to Follow CBSE Decision

During the SC hearing on pending CBSE Board Exams, Senior Adv Jaideep Gupta who was representing the ICSE Board informed the court that CISCE Board plans to follow the decision taken by CBSE Board as far pending boared exams are concerned. He also informed the court that Bombay High Court had deferred the hearing on the matter until 23rd June 2020 when CBSE was expected to clarify its stands before the apex court. On being asked if the Board would follow whatever CBSE decides the advocate said the ICSE Board would follow the government's decision. In response to this, Supreme Court informed ICSE Board’s counsel that CISCE Board is “at the liberty to tweak the CBSE decision and follow its own informed decision.” SC adjourned the hearing for today by two days until 25th Jun 2020, following CBSE Board’s request for the same.

Parents’ Plea Demands Cancellation of Board Exams

The apex court is hearing a case based on a plea filed by parents of students who are due to appear for the pending board examination. The petition calls for cancellation of the pending CBSE Board Exams 2020 in the light of the increasing number of Coronavirus cases in the country. The Supreme Court Bench comprising of Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, which is hearing the case, informed board that holding pending board exams “At a time when India is nearing the 3,00,000 mark of total reported cases, it would be a huge risk”.
