ICSE/ISC Board Exam 2021: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has taken the decision to postpone ICSE class 10th and ISC class 12th exams. The new dates will be released after reviewing the situation in the first week of June. The official body released a press release stating that "In the light of the nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, the CISCE has decided to defer the ICSE class 10th and ISC class 12th board examination scheduled to be held from May 4." The authorities will closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and accordingly release the new dates for the exam.

After announcing the postponement of CBSE class 12th and the cancellation of class 10 board exams, many ICSE/ISC students urge the CISCE board to reconsider board examination dates. Therefore the CISCE reconsidered the ICSE, ISC exam. Earlier, the CISCE Board exam 2021 scheduled to commence on 4th May for ICSE class 10 exam while ISC class 12 exam started on 8th April 2021.

ICSE/ISC Board Exam 2021: Last Year's CISCE's Assessment Scheme

Earlier, CISCE in an official notification said that “Due to COVID situation, the board will take a decision regarding ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII year 2021 examination and will inform all concerned at the earliest.” The parents and students expect CISCE to reconsider ICSE, ISC exam 2021 and take the decision as per the CBSE and other state boards. Now, CISCE has postponed class 10th exams. None of the boards, barring the IB board, has cancelled the 12th exams. In 2020, CISCE had to cancel board exams and had adopted a unique assessment scheme to promote students. CISCE's assessment scheme included three parameters:

  • An average of a student’s best three papers marks in the CISCE board examination
  • Subject project
  • Percentage of subject internal assessment for class 10 or project and practical work for class 12.

A total of 2,341 schools in India and abroad are affiliated to CISCE for the ICSE exams. Over 3 lakh students appear for CISCE board exams every year. This includes both class 10th and 12th students. In 2020, a total of 2,07,902 candidates appeared for ICSE exams. Out of these 2.06 lakh had cleared the exam.
