The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan has taken steps to stay connected with its students via digital platforms in order to compensate for the lost time due to the COVD-19 lockdown.
According to an official statement released by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, a large number of teachers are making an effort to connect with their students through the different digital platforms in order to compensate for the loss of classes.
The statement released also points out that the Kendriya Vidyalaya have shared the schedule of all the lessons of the recorded and live programmes of NIOS for the secondary and senior secondary classes from the SwayamPrabha Portal which commenced on April 7, 2020.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan has also nominated some selected teachers for a live session to be conducted by the NIOS at SwayamPrabha Portal for addressing the queries and also to clear the counts of the students via Skype and Live Web Chats.
With the closure of school due to the lockdown, the principals and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas are trying to reach out to the students in order to make sure their mental health is looked after.
The statement released by the KVS also stated that due to the situation ]created by COVID-19 in the country it has been decided that the schools will allow the use of classrooms of the KV school buildings as temporary housing for suspected cases of COVID-19 in the different regions.
Close to 80 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country have been taken over by different competent authorities to be used as quarantine centres during the lockdown. The teachers and non-teaching members have contributed close to Rs. - 10,40,60,536 to the Prime Minister CARES Fund in order to support the nation's fight against COVID-19.
