MG University Kerala Semester Exams Cancelled in Thiruvananthapuram after imposition of triple lockdown

MG University Kerala Semester Exams 2020 Postponed: As per the latest update, the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala has decided to postpone the pending Semester Exams in the district of Thiruvananthapuram, after state government decided to impose a triple lockdown in the district following a significant spike in the number of COVID-19 cases. As per the exam schedule announced earlier by the varsity, MG University Kerala was expected to commence the Semester Exams 2020 for all students from 6th July 2020 – Monday. However, the exam for students from Thiruvananthapuram has been postponed in the light of the triple lockdown announced by the state government. Students should note that the university will hold exams in other districts except Thiruvananthapuram, as per schedule.

Revised Exam Dates Later

MGU Kerala notified the postponement of the upcoming semester exams for the district, but have not provided any alternative dates for the exam. The Controller of Exams, MG University Kerala said that revised dates for the pending exams will be issued by the varsity soon. He also confirmed that the exams for students from Thiruvananthapuram will be held only after the state government lifts the lockdown and announces normalcy enough for conduct of the examination.

Triple Lockdown in Thiruvananthapuram

Earlier on 5th July – Sunday, the Kerala State Government decided to impose a triple lockdown in the Thiruvananthapuram corporation limits following a spike in coronavirus cases. The triple lockdown will came into effect from 6 AM today and will last for nearly 1 week. During the triple lockdown in the district, people have been advised not to venture outside their homes for the next one week and co-operate with government officials, police personnel and other officers.
