NEET 2021 Exam pattern

Changes have been introduced in the NEET 2021 examination pattern by the National Testing Agency. The National Testing Agency has decided to introduce internal choices for the NEET 2021 examinations with an aim to rationalize the school syllabus reduction by the school education boards. Revised Exam Pattern

According to the revised pattern, the first section of the question paper will include 35 mandatory questions while the second section includes 15 questions from which students are required to answer 10.

As per the information provided, each subject will include two sections with 35 and 15 questions respectively making the total number of questions and the utilization of time the same. This has been introduced to rationalize the decision of the reduction in the syllabus by the school boards.

A similar option was introduced for the JEE Main examinations where the students will be given 30 optional questions from which they are required to answer 25.

Marking Scheme

No negative marking will be given for optional answers in the JEE Main however there will be negative marks for incorrect answers in the NEET 2021 exams. As per the marking scheme given, four marks will be given for correct answers while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
