According to the official statement, a delegation of IMA officials had met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on 30th December 2021. The delegation was led by National President of IMA Sahajanand Prasad Singh. During the meeting, the delegation urged the minister to resolve the issue of delayed admission in the PG medical course. Along with the matter of NEET PG Counselling 2021, IMA also reached out to Home Minister Amit Shah to withdraw the FIR lodged against the striking junior doctors in protest against the delay in NEET PG 2021 Counselling.

The official statement issued by IMA in this regards reads “"In the present scenario, when third Covid wave is raising its head with Omicron variant, it is all more important to enhance the existing medical manpower in different hospitals. It is unfortunate that resident doctors are forced to go on strike inspite of their significant contribution during the Covid pandemic even while preparing for NEET PG exams.”
