NEET UG Counselling 2021: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released an important notification for NRI candidates who are to participate in the NEET Counselling 2021 for undergraduate courses. According to the latest notification from MCC, the committee has provided yet another option to the candidates who want to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI. Candidates who want to participate in the NEET UG Counselling 2021 under the NRI quota can choose to do so by editing or changing their nationality, accordingly.
Document Required to Request Change in Nationality
Candidates who are currently registered as Indian, can change their nationality to NRI category as per the latest notification of MCC. In order to request change in Nationality for NEET UG 2021 Counselling, candidates need to provide relevant documents and submit the same to MCC. The documents required to avail this option are listed below:
- Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).
- Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of the Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22-08- 2017.
- Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
- Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).
- NEET scorecard of the candidate.
How to Change Nationality for NEET UG Counselling 2021?
To streamline the process of changing nationality for the NEET UG Counselling 2021, the exam authority has said that students need to submit their necessary documents for the same. The documents to convent candidate’s nationality from Indian to NRI can be sent to MCC via email at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com. Candidates can send in the relevant documents in support of their NRI claim to change nationality from today i.e. 30th December 2021 until 2nd January 2022 upto 10 AM in the morning.
