PM Inaugurates AIIMS Rewari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rewari, Haryana. The prominent healthcare hub offering various essential services was launched under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
Spanning across 210 acres, the new AIIMS in Haryana will be built at an estimated amount of Rs 1650 crore. The hospital aims to provide comprehensive, quality, and holistic tertiary-care health services to the locals of Haryana. Moreover, the Prime Minister launched multiple development projects worth more than Rs 9,750 crore concerning urban transport, health, rail, and tourism sectors in the state.
Facilities Provided At AIIMS Rewari
AIIMS Rewari hospital complex will include 720 beds, a medical college with 100 seats, and a nursing college with 60 seats. Moreover, the hospital will accommodate an AYUSH block with 30 beds that will cater to the alternative medicine needs of the patients. AIIMS Haryana will also provide residential accommodation for faculty and staff. There will also be hostel facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Other basic amenities include a night shelter and a guesthouse to ensure the comfort and convenience of patients and visitors. AIIMS-Rewari will specialise in 18 different medical specialties and 17 super specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, neurology, neurosurgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, endocrinology, and burns and plastic surgery. AIIMS will also feature 16 modular operation theatres, state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratories, and a fully-equipped blood bank.
AIIMS-Rewari aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to meet the diverse needs of people. According to data, the establishment of an AIIMS at Manethi village in Rewari district was approved for Rs 1,299 crore by the cabinet in February 2019.
