The Admission Committee for Professional Courses, Gujarat has announced the provisional merit list for admission to the various degree engineering and pharmacy courses offered by colleges across Gujarat. While the provisional merit list was announced on June 11, 2019, the final merit list for the different degree engineering courses offered by colleges across Gujarat is expected to be released on June 19. Also, the final merit list for pharmacy courses offered across Gujarat is expected to be released on June 21, 2019.
Last year, a total of 39,668 students had their name mentioned in the engineering courses merit list. The number of students whose name has been mentioned in the merit list this year has come down drastically and only 33,163 students have made it to the merit list. Around 39,000 seats are expected to be left vacant in the engineering colleges across Gujarat this year compared to the 32,255 engineering seats that remained vacant last year. The number of vacant seats this year is expected to increase this year because of the increase in the number of seats due to the implementation of 10 percent EWS quota. The first position in the engineering merit list has been secured by Nidhi Manek, a student of Bhavnagar, with 99.99 percent marks.
The merit list for the pharmacy courses announced on June 11, 2019, featured a total of 15,336 students. The first rank in the pharmacy list was secured by Jikar Bipin Tapan. The number of students mentioned in the pharmacy merit list year also has dropped as compared to the last year. In 2018, a total of 19,243 students had made it to the merit list. The number of seats in the pharmacy colleges have seen an increase as compared to last due to the implementation of the EWS reservations. The total number of pharmacy seats this year is 7248 as compared to 5400 last year.
The engineering students have until June 16 to complete the choice filling for the mock round whereas pharmacy students have till June 18 to complete the choice filling for the mock rounds as per the ACPC, Gujarat officials.
