Students to witness Republic Day Parade from PM’s Box

According to a tweet by the Ministry of Education, meritorious students across the country will be given the chance to witness the RepublicDay 2021 Parade from the Prime Minister’s Box. The tweet further adds that the students will also be given a chance to meet and interact with the Minister of Education Dr Rmesh Pokhriyal.

As per the officials from the ministry, 100 students have been shortlisted for the Republic Day Parade from which 50 are from schools while the remaining 50 are from Higher Education Institutions. A total of 105 toppers from CBSE and Universities across the country received a chance last year to watch the 71st Republic Day parade from the Prime Ministers Box.

Reducing in a few events during the Parade

As per reports, the Republic Day 2021 parade will miss the gravity-defying stunts by motorcycle-borne men which is a major attraction for the crown during the Republic Day celebrations in Rajpath. The number of spectators attending the Republic Day parade has also been reduced to 25,000. This year's parade will also be missing the parade of gallantry awardees and children who have earned bravery awards keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic and the guidelines released including Social Distancing.

The Republic Day parade this year will also not see a chief guest and the number of participants in the Republic Day cultural programmes has been reduced from 600 to just 401 this year in order to avoid overcrowding and following the social distancing rules due to the pandemic.
