Telangana government plans to introduce coding in government schools

The Telangana government has planned to launch a pilot programme introducing coding for 33 schools in the Wanaparthy district of the state. As per officials coding will be introduced to the government school students from the district.

The Telangana State Education Department, along with the Telangana IT and Communications Department and the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) will be carrying out the week-long pilot programme in the 33 schools of Wanaparthy district in the state.

IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said that members of the Telangana Information Technology Association have been identified to conduct the principal pilot of the project in order to assess the challenges which might arise while conducting the programme across the state.

As per media reports, after an entry-level training programme the school teachers and students will be trained in the Scratch Programme, HTML and Python programming languages over a period of five days.

The Telangana Information Technology Association global president Sudeep Kumar Makthala said that the project will introduce the students to new skills. He added that the introduction of the coding skills at school level will also induce problem-solving skills among the students along with orienting them towards entrepreneurial possibilities. He pointed out that 99 students which are 3 from each of the 33 schools have been selected for the pilot project.

Candidates appearing for the class 10 Telangana state board examinations can visit the official website of the board to check the Telangana SSC time Table 2020. The class 10 Telangana state board examinations will be conducted from March 2020 to April 2020. The time table is available on the official website - bse.telangana.gov.in
