
On Thursday, the HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal released a guide to the Student Induction Programme, Deeksharambh in order to help the new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment which will help them in instilling the ideology and culture of the institution they are admitted in. With the help of the guide to the Student Induction Programme, the students will be able to bond with the other students and the faculty members and also expose themselves to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration in the new environment.
Before beginning the regular classes for the academic year the officials will be occupying the new students to make them feel more comfortable in the institution. At the beginning of the induction programme the students will learn about the policies of the institution, the process and practices followed, the culture and the values of the institution along with the mentor groups formed. Students will also be mentored under the Student Induction Programme which will help them to develop a strong bond with their teachers at the new institution.
The students will be given a platform to become strong enough to face the competitive world with confidence. Along with this, the students will also be able to venture into the new phase of life which will lead them to build a character based on the Universal Human Values which include truth, righteous conduct, non-violence, love, peace and also assisting in developing self-awareness oneness and compassion for others.
In order to spread awareness about the Student Induction Programme – Deekhsarambh among the higher education institutions and also its other stakeholders, the University Grants Commission has decided to conduct an awareness and training programme for the teachers in the different regions in the country.
