Students spend a lot of time researching ways to make a perfect resume. They struggle with the idea for what to put and what no to put in their resume. But most of the time this content that, they struggle with is something that doesn't hold a lot of importance, in either their profiles or even their resumes. If you have meaningful content that strengthens your profile then, there is nothing that you'd have to contemplate about while writing your resume. Anything that strengthens your candidature and is related to the job you are applying for sure goes in the resume.

Learn Video Editing

Almost everyone today is taking up photography it has become quite common. Half the people sitting along with you outside the interview room would tell photography as their passion. Start filming videos and learn the art of video editing. You could start small like filming a family function or just recording videos of friends or the environment around you. Mind you, there are a lot of videographers out their filming but very few are doing it good. Being able to shoot a good video and edit it is a great skill, you can also get some great jobs as a video editor in future. Who knows you might go on to become the next great film maker.

Learn To Play An Instrument

Learning to play an instrument is a great skill. If you develop a taste for it then with practice you could play at small functions or join a band and do freelance gigs. If you have learnt to play some instrument while in high-school its best to continue with it unless you really want to start over and learn a new instrument. Also, music is known as a great stress buster. You could easily lift up your spirits after a tiring day at college by playing some songs on your favourite instrument. Who knows you might find like-minded people and start your own music band in college.

Strengthen Your Social Media Presence

They say that social media has become the new resume. And rightly so, a lot employers look at your social media profiles when shortlisiting your name. If you have a great social media presence chances are you could land a job or even get interview calls without having to send your resume at many places. But the task is not as easily done as said. Strengthening your social media presence requires a lot of effort on your part. For example, you need to have unique content that stands out and you need to post on almost daily basis and have an active presence on multiple social media along with a good amount of followers who engage with your posts. If worked on with dedication, social media can prove to be a very beneficial hobby.

Learn a new language

Learning a new language has many benefits. Some colleges have even made it compulsory for its students to take up language classes as a part of their curriculum. Also, if you have the dreams of travelling abroad then the knowledge of the native language can boost your experience manifolds. It's a very productive way of keeping your brain sharp and active. Software's like Rosetta Stone are quite effective if you wish to take online lessons for learning a new language. Once you grasp a good hold over the language you can also showcase it in your resume.
