Learn To Play An Instrument
Learning to play an instrument is a great skill. If you develop a taste for it then with practice you could play at small functions or join a band and do freelance gigs. If you have learnt to play some instrument while in high-school its best to continue with it unless you really want to start over and learn a new instrument. Also, music is known as a great stress buster. You could easily lift up your spirits after a tiring day at college by playing some songs on your favourite instrument. Who knows you might find like-minded people and start your own music band in college.
Strengthen Your Social Media Presence
They say that social media has become the new resume. And rightly so, a lot employers look at your social media profiles when shortlisiting your name. If you have a great social media presence chances are you could land a job or even get interview calls without having to send your resume at many places. But the task is not as easily done as said. Strengthening your social media presence requires a lot of effort on your part. For example, you need to have unique content that stands out and you need to post on almost daily basis and have an active presence on multiple social media along with a good amount of followers who engage with your posts. If worked on with dedication, social media can prove to be a very beneficial hobby.

If you love to write then blogging is a great hobby for you to consider taking up. Especially, if you have burned yourself out doing academic writing over and over. Learning a new language has many benefits. Some colleges have even made it compulsory for its students to take up language classes as a part of their curriculum. Also, if you have the dreams of travelling abroad then the knowledge of the native language can boost your experience manifolds. It's a very productive way of keeping your brain sharp and active.
