60 Arrested for protest against CBSE Pattern

A rigorous protest demanding the withdrawal of CBSE Pattern from Puducherry by the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam.

A rigorous protest at the School Education Complex in demand for the withdrawal of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern from government schools was carried forward by the activist of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam.

The activist rowed in a rally from the Indira Gandhi Square raising slogans against the implementation of CBSE pattern in government schools. On their attempt to enter the premises, the Police asked them to disperse resulting in jostling, running and pushing. About 60 activist or more have been arrested and removed.

“The CBSE System won’t benefit the rural students and for those who wish to pursue a career in vernacular medium”, said one of the leaders named Veeramohan.
