Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), as the name suggests is a constituent of the Symbiosis International University of Pune. The aim behind the formation of such an institute was to create a space "where all the creative minds come together". Industrial Events are given a lot of importance to impart the desired knowledge. SID has its own fashion, design and media festival known as DZMA. The annual event is a congregation of artists and performers from several media, communication and fashion design schools. The event is highly popular and provides a unique opportunity for the students to showcase their artwork. Besides DZMA, the institute also hosts several other events like Chhaap which was focussed on visual identity for brands and products. The other events include Typo fest which was focussed on typography, Lakshya which is dedicated to sketching.

To secure the admission, one needs to appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET 2016).
