Applying to universities and colleges till now was very painful for students across the nation as they need to constantly compile their documents together for attestation for every single institution for admissions. In a new decision taken up by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, students would no longer have to go through the long and tiring process of attestation of documents for applying to educational institutes. A self-attestation would do the job for them. This discretion would help countless students who had till date faced quite a lot of problems regarding their documents getting attested by government officials.
In order to implement the orders immediately, the decision has been conveyed to all the Vice Chancellors of all the universities across the country. The universities are given a time of one week to kick start the initiative taken up by the central government. The universities have been requested to process the abolition of affidavits and take up a lighter method of self-certification for further admission processes from the students.
Previously, students need to attest all their documents from gazetted officers, which took toll on the time and money of the students. This directive would help the students in smoother admission process and would be beneficial for those who are appearing in various written examinations. The difficulties in getting these attestations were much higher among the students in rural areas. They had to go to a far off place to get their documents attested from government/gazetted officials. This directive would thus help the students from every nook and corner of the country to streamline their admission process.
