Once again the International Women’s Day (IWD) is being celebrated on 08th March across the globe. Though we discuss a lot on the women empowerment and women rights on this date and we forget them after sometime. Needless to say women are being inseparable part of the society as well as the parameter of economic, political and social development.
Now when women are emerging in comparison to men in all fields, we are analyzing five government jobs fields through which women they can go higher not only their own and their family but the whole country as well as society.
Government Jobs in Nursing
In healthcare sector, nursing is assumed to be the best option for women. Service, sacrifice and commitment are primary requisites for nursing govt jobs, which are common for women as per their personality traits. Actually, nursing is a profession when women not just render care to helpless persons, family but also get the opportunity to avails the best medical facilities. Naturally then, it’s the women who can do justice to this profession hence you can choose nursing jobs as your major career option.
The post of Nurse in any hospital is such that which gets a lot of respect. Reality is that there many hospitals, both in government and private sectors where lacs of opportunities available and you need not study a lot to find a nursing job. If you want to secure your future as a nurse then you can purse the courses like Diploma in Nursing, B.Sc. in Nursing, etc. which can be joined at any recognized institution. There are many vacancies being notified by Government hospitals throughout the year. With the continuous rise of the private hospitals, the demand of nurses is consistently growing like never before.
If you want to start your profession as Nurse then you multiple opportunities too to excel in your career. From general ward to operation theatre, in any hospital, the role of nurse very crucial. Needless to say women are dominating in nursing career.
For nursing jobs, you need to have studied science subjects, e.g. Zoology, Botany, Physical and Chemistry at your 10+2 level. After 12th you can purse the course like Bachelor degree course (B.Sc. Nursing) and master degree course (M.Sc. Nursing). However, there are many diploma courses too, e.g. General Nursing and Midwife (GNM) course, which can be done through any recognized healthcare organization.
Women interested in Nursing Jobs have the option to join many other courses too, for example Auxiliary Nurse Midwife /Health Worker (ANM). You know that there is no age limit of study, hence you keep studying while completing short term courses because in this option you would gain the experience as well as the higher level nursing course.
Government Jobs in Teaching
You would have heard the proverb that, ‘if you train a man, you are educating just one person, but if you train a woman, you are educating to whole nation’.
Needless to say teaching jobs are one of the most respected professions in society. In such a situation, if you want to join teaching career, what else be better than this. As a mother where women develop overall to her own child and care for his future, if joins a school or institution, she can reduce the ill traits of the society. Moral values which are consistently decreasing among today’s children can be retained with the female teachers only in schools. It’s necessary in such a situation that female should opt teaching as a career for them, which not only a good profession for them but also very crucial for the society in contemporary circumstances.
As far as educational qualification is concerned to be the teacher, you need to have Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) after your graduation. It’s one year course (somewhere two years) which can be pursed at any government/private university or college or centre. You will get the basic knowledge, required skill and techniques, etc. for teaching profession. You need to have minimum 50% marks in your graduation degree. After completing B.Ed. course you can start your career in teaching.
Government Jobs in Defence
You would have remembered an incidence of 2015 when the then US President, Barak Obama was the Chief Guest in our Republic Day Parade. In the Rastrapati Bhavan, he was given the Guard of Honour as well as Salute of 21 tanks. But apart from this, during the whole event another history was written, when Pooja Thakur had given the Guard of Honour to the US President.
Wing Commander, Pooja Thakur is the first women officer to give Guard of Honour to any official guest. Yes, Pooja Thakur, Wing Commander, Indian Air Force had lead the Guard of Honour to the US President Barak Obama.
Those days are gone when we can segregate the job options for men and women. There was a time when men were dominating the police and defence jobs but now women too have achieved the remarkable status in these fields too due to their capacity to strive and firm determination.
Hence, if you too have the courage and enthusiasm, then you can choose the defence and army jobs as your career.
Women had been allowed in officer’s rank since 1992 itself, there are plenty of opportunities available for women in defence forces.
MSCW-Non Tech– Indian Army conducts recruitment process twice a year through UPSC for women having passed 12th class.
SSCW (NCC)– In SSCW-NCC recruitment scheme, female NCC Cadets can join the Indian Army which gives opportunity to eight unmarried cadets.
Aprt from this, females can apply for these jobs in Indian Army, e.g. SSCW-Technical Entry Scheme, Military Nursing Service, etc. through which women can serve the nation by joining Indian Army. In this scheme, women of 21-35 years age can apply for these jobs.
Indian Navy: Indian Navy too offers may jobs for women having course and enthusiasm to serve the nation.
ATC: In Indian Navy Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is an area where a candidate apply after completing his or her graduation or post-graduation in Science subjects, e.g. Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, etc..
Absorber– For absorber position, any female candidate must have secured minimum 55 per cent marks in any graduation degree and 10+2 with Physics and Math as compulsory subjects.
Logistics- If you have interest in logistics then jobs in defence logistics are perfect area. Female candidates having valid Architecture, Computer Engineering, IT, Civil, Electrical, Marine, Mechanical Engineering graduation degree (B.Tech./B.E.) can in this division.
Indian Air Force: If you dream to touch the highs of sky as a fighter pilot, then the Flying Branch is the best option for you. For these jobs, any female candidate need to have minimum 60% marks in graduation and 10+2 with Physic and Chemistry with minimum 60% marks and BE/B.Tech degree.
Apart from this there are job opportunities in Technical Branch, Ground Duty, Administration wing etc.
Government Jobs in Bank
Banks have always been a major factor in the development of the nation, but in today’s globalised world, banks have become more crucial. If we see banking as a career, bank jobs are one of the best government jobs areas for female.
Bank PO, Clerk Jobs, etc. are considered to be challenging but they provide numerous growth opportunities too. There are many job options available for female in banks where the maximum job notifications are coming. Due to many types of opportunities available at banks, female candidate can apply for the jobs which find interesting and suitable to their personality.
For bank PO post, minimum educational qualification is graduation. However, different banks have defined different division as their cut-off. But for the officers’ position, graduation is must.
While for Bank Clerk Jobs, 10+2 pass candidates can apply. If you have good command over General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, then with simple preparation you can get the Bank Jobs and make your future secure. Bank PO is the minimum entry level to reach the highest level in the banking system, where you can become CEO, President and Managing Director with the gradual promotion.
Government Jobs in Police
You will surprise to know that despite many efforts and campaigns on women empowerment, the count of female police staff hasn’t even cross the 15 per cent of the total police force in many states. It is reality especially when we don’t get tired talking about the women empowerment and their upliftment.
If we don’t have enough female police force then how can we expect security for women in society? By ensuring the maximum female staff in police force, we can make our society women friendly. Today Women Police get many headlines in news and media due to their contribution to the society.
