Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Head Constable (RO) – Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board/ institution plus two years ITI certificate in radio and TV or Electronics or intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board or institution.
- Head Constable (Fitter) – Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board/ institution; and 2 years industrial training institute certificate in Engine Fitter or Diesel Mechanic, or Automobile or Motor Mechanic from an institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government board or intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board or institution.
- Assistant Sub- Inspector (Radio Mechanic) – Matric with diploma in Radio and TV technology or Electronics or Telecommunication/ Computer/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering / Domestic Appliances from an institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government board or intermediate or 10+2 or intermediate or equivalent with aggregate marks of 50% with selective subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board or institution.
Age Limit
- HC (RO)/ HC (Fitter): Between 18 years and 25 years
- ASI (RM): Between 18 years and 23 years
Application Fee: No application fee will be charged from SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen candidate and fee for General and OBC Candidate is Rs 50 (Non-refundable) in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS)/ IPO/ Bank Draft in favour of “Inspector General (Special) Frontier ITBP, Payable at – SBI- RK Puram, New Delhi, Code No- 1076.”
Selection Procedure
The candidate’s overall performance will be judged for final recruitment. The assessment will be made in 2 phases mentioned below.
First Phase
- Written Examination (Objective type with multiple choices)
a) Physics- 60 marks
b) Mathematics- 60 marks
c) Chemistry- 30 marks
d) English and GK- 50 marks
Second Phase
- Preliminary Screening
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Diction Test (in English)
- Verification of original documents
- Personal Interview
- Detailed Medical Examination

- The candidates may utilize the application format as given on the website http://www.bsf.nic.in by neatly typing the same on double space on white sheet.
- Application should be accompanied by a crossed Bank Draft/ Indian Postal Order of Rs 50 for General/ OBC candidates as examination fee in favour of The Inspector General/ or DIG/ Comdt to whom the application is addressed payable at respective SBI/ post office. Application along with fee needs to be sent on any of the 18 recruitment centres mentioned on the website http://www.bsf.nic.in
- The envelope containing application should be super scribed in bold letters as ‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF HC (RO)/ HC (FITTER)/ HC (RM)’
