Canara bank announced the Final Results (provisional) for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in JMG Scale I. Group Discussion and Interview was conducted on 16 April 2012 to 28 April 2012. A total of 2000 candidates are selected for the post of Probationary Officers.

Canara Bank was founded as Canara Bank Hindu Permanent Fund, first in 1906 and then later as Canara Bank Ltd in 1910 and Canara Bank in 1969. The Government of India nationalised Canara Bank on 19 July 1969. In 1976, Canara Bank inaugurated its 1000th branch and in 1985, Canara Bank acquired Lakshmi Commercial Bank in a rescue.
