CAT 2017: The last date to apply for the CAT 2017 Exam is September 20. All the CAT Exam aspirants shall register themselves earliest by 5:00pm to avoid the end time rush. With only few hours left in hand to apply to one of the most coveted management entrance exams of India, keep following details and documents with you when you sit to apply for the exam through online mode.
How to register for CAT 2017
- Visit the official website of CAT 2017.
- Before you register for the exam, it is recommended that you watch ‘CAT 2017 Registration Guide’ which is available at the homepage of the website. It talks about the forms that you would need for registering online.
- After watching the video, you will feel comfortable while registering for CAT 2017.
- Keep all your documents ready because you will be required to fill in the details and marks obtained in your school and graduation level.
- Keep a debit/credit card ready. You can also pay the CAT 2017 registration fee via Net Banking.
- This year the CAT conducting body i.e. IIM Lucknow has increased the application fee to Rs. 1800/- from the previous year CAT registration fee of Rs. 1700/-. For the other reserved category aspirants the application fee for CAT 2017 exams remains Rs. 900/- only.
- After filling in all the details you will receive an acknowledgement mail from the exam conducting body. Keep the mail safe for the future reference.
- Finally, Print your application form out for future use.
CAT 2017: Exam Pattern
CAT is an annual exam which is scheduled to be conducted on 26th November in the morning slot i.e. from 10AM to 12Noon. The exam comprises of 3 sections namely, Verbal Ability and Reading comprehension, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and finally Logical Reasoning. The bifurcation of the questions from each section is as follows:

Each year, the aspirants get both MCQ and non-MCQ (i.e. descriptive) questions in the exam. Their ability to score in the exam is dependent on how well they handle both the types of question in a time span of 180 minutes.
Why CAT 2017 Exam?
The CAT Exam is a gateway to all the IIMs and other prestigious institutes such as FMS, IMI Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad and many more. All the candidates who appear in the exam and score well will get shortlisted for the next level of selection.
Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. But remember that the criteria for shortlisting vary from IIM to IIM. So keep a track of the admission cut-off and criteria released by each IIM.
