CBSE Board: 20,000 more students to appear for exam this year

Nearly, 20,000 more students will be appearing for the CBSE Class X and Class XII examinations this year from Ajmer region. The Ajmer region, which covers Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli; will see the participation of 20,000 more students this year for the CBSE Class X & XII Exam starting on March 1.

Looking at the increased participation of students, CBSE has made additional security arrangements to keep a check on malpractices and cheating in the exam. These include dedicated flying squads deputed at different district level exam centres to inspect the examination process. "We have made appropriate security for the question papers and have also written to the SP of all districts for adequate security measures," said an official.

Compared to last year, in which 2,71,715 students registered for Class X and XII examinations, this year a total of 2,91,997 students are likely to appear for the CBSE exams from Ajmer region. The Class X Board Exam is likely to see 1, 67,681 registered students, of which 55,537 are boys and 37,459 are girls. The school level CBSE 10th Exam is likely to see 47,659 boys and 27,026 appear for the test.

Approximately, 1, 24,296 students in all the three combined streams of arts, commerce and science are likely to appear for the CBSE XII Exam. Of the total number, 67,260 are boys, while rests are girls. The Board has also notified that close to 8000 students are likely to appear as private students for Class XII exams.

The CBSE Board Exams hold vital importance in the academic careers of the students, For Class X students; it paves the way ahead to seek admission to secondary schools, whereas for Class XII students the exam acts as the primary basis for admission to higher education institutes. The CBSE Exam date-sheet has already been announced by the board, which denotes that the CBSE 10th Exams will conclude on March 28 whereas Class XII exam will continue to April 22.
