The School Based Exams 2014 for Class X have started from 10 March 2014 in CBSE schools throughout the nation, nine days after the corresponding Board (External) Exams started on 01 March 2014.
While some schools started the school based Class 10 exams with the paper of Mathematics, for others it was Social Science on the first day. In some schools the exams are yet to start as the respective exam dates framework issued by CBSE states that the school-based exams must start on any date from 10 March 2014 onwards, and must end latest by 31 March 2014.
A CBSE’s recent statement on school-based exams said that every School, Sahodaya Cluster or City may design its own date sheet for classes IX and X School Based Examination accordingly.
Although the CBSE external board exams are popular, a considerable number of students have opted for the school based exams.
The major difference between the two exam formats lies in the evaluation process of the answer sheets. While the school based examination answer sheets will be evaluated by teachers within the school, the external board examination answer sheets will be checked by external teachers.
The marking scheme as provided by CBSE will be the same for both the exam types.
