Champion of State school arts festival 2014
CBSE conducted State school arts festival 2014 in which The Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode emerged as the champion. The event concluded in Sarvodaya Central School. It was a 3 day event. The 1st runner-up was Christ CMI Public School.
Thrissur bagged 2nd position
Among 17 Sahodaya schools, the Kottayam Sahodaya swayed highest with a count of 1,723 points over 4 categories. Thrissur scored 1,609. Both the Sahodaya groups have conquered the top of the table in the past few years. The Calicut Sahodaya & Ernakulam Sahodaya followed with 1,115 & 964 points respectively. Silver Hills attained 456 points whereas the Christ CMI Public School registered 310 points. The second runner-up Marygiri Public School, Koothattukulam, bagged 273 points.
It was Silver Hills’s senior students, category 3 & 4 of high school & higher secondary students, who encouraged them to triumph with remarkable 170 & 168 points respectively. Their list of winners’ is not confined to a certain group of competitions. Classical music, story writing in Hindi, English & Malayalam, Margam Kali, Sanskrit recitation, instruments (Western and Classical), duff muttu, classical dances, folk dance, pencil drawing – there was a student from Silver Hills in all.
