The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme is in process in all schools affiliated to CBSE. According to this scheme, 4 Formative Assessments as well as 2 Summative Assessments would be held in an academic year.  The first Summative Assessment i.e. SA-I for Classes IX and X is planned to be carried out in mid of September, 2014. So as to ensure standards, the Question Paper Bank in diverse subjects would be sent by the Boards in order to reach the schools well in time. The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme refers to a school based evaluation of students that covers all characteristics of a student’s growth.

Continuous means regular assessments, analysis of learning gaps, frequency of unit testing, retesting, applying corrective measures & giving feedback to students and teachers for their self - evaluation, etc. Comprehensive evaluation attempts to envelop both scholastic & co - scholastic aspects of student’s development and growth — with both these aspects of evaluation process being evaluated through Summative and Formative Assessment.
